If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure: Call the office on 01489 774400. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly. NOTES: Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call. If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed. Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact. Thank you!

Monday 21st October

48 Sheep found (13 WFW, 35 Shetland), all looked healthy, in the following locations :-

- 6 WFW by Western Fence not far North of Plum Pudding with 1 further down the steep hill eating from a tree (I suspect the missing one was near to this one).

- 9 Shetlands came to me when I fed them (5 of them had followed when I spoke to them near the NW gate).

- 26 Shetlands were on the Northern Edge of the central bowl, just under the trees.

- 6 WFW were in the Beech Wood to the West of Plum Pudding.

Food is down to about 25% full, Water trough is full.

I bumped into 2 walkers with 4 dogs off lead just to the East of the Eastern gate of the SW part of the compartment. Both were friendly and asked about the sheep and said they would put their dogs on a lead before entering the compartment.

Something odd was going on in the farm track to the west of the western compartment, there was a lot of shouting and screaming and the sound of a vehicle. Maybe why most of the sheep were hiding ?

When I could look out through the gate they had gone further south along the track and I couldn't see them but could still hear shouting and screaming.

All 44 counted in this morning, all seem quite happy. Found on the upper and middle slopes in one group. Fence and water troughs ok.
