If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure: Call the office on 01489 774400. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly. NOTES: Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call. If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed. Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact. Thank you!

Monday 29th July

I think I found 48 sheep (the Shetlands kept moving so I had 3 recounts) under the beech trees at the top western corner of the compartment, they probably had the coolest location with shade and a breeze.

All looked healthy and none of those moving around were limping (quite a few were just sitting).

There was fox scat near the fence just downhill from where the sheep were so it is probably worth double checking it isn't digging a hole under the fence (in case it becomes big enough for  the sheep to get out), when checking the sheep.

There is plenty of food and both water troughs were full,  but, I couldn't get the water to flow (by depressing the float) on the old trough and the new trough I couldn't get into th mechanism to check.

No dog walkers seen (I did meet Tom and Emily in the Eastern Compartment at the end).
