If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure: Call the office on 01489 774400. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly. NOTES: Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call. If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed. Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact. Thank you!

Wednesday 2nd October - Grazing Team Visit to Treat Limpy

Hi All,

We came today with some feed to see if we could tempt limpy closer to catch him. When we caught him we discovered it was bad scauld and treated him with blue spray. There were a few other limpers present, upon catching them they had no visible ailments, so there's a few with slight sprains. These should improve on their own.

Please keep an eye on limpy, he should improve over time.

Best wishes
Grazing Team

  1. Thanks for the update Grace & the grazing team. I'm so pleased Limpy has been treated & I had been able to identify and report the issue. I honestly think he specifically gave me the wink and a limpy wave on two occasions to get that sorted. Bless him, thanks again.

Wednesday 19th August

All 44 counted in this morning, all seem quite happy. Found on the upper and middle slopes in one group. Fence and water troughs ok.
