If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure: Call the office on 01489 774400. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly. NOTES: Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call. If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed. Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact. Thank you!

Monday 14th October

41 Sheep (14, WFW and 27 Shetlands) found in the locations below, all looked healthy :-

- 1 WFW in the Beech Wood near Plum Pudding (I could hear other sheep nearby but it was too steep for me to be able to find them, these must be some/all the unaccounted for Shetlands).

- 27 (25 Shetlands, 2 WFW) either on the ridge in Toms photo or the North facing slope nearby, all 25 Shetlands came for food, the 2 WFW just watched.

- 13 (11 WFW, 2 Shetlands) in the Bowl in the centre

Note : I found a safe way into/down to the Bowl by following a wideish sheep trail (about halfway down the Northern slope).

Lots of food and water trough full.

No walkers or dogs seen but I did see a large hare (female ?) in the Beech Woodland near Plum Pudding.

I wanted to photograph her but she went into the undergrowth, I could see her but the photo would have been poor. First hare I have seen on the actual nature reserve.

All 44 counted in this morning, all seem quite happy. Found on the upper and middle slopes in one group. Fence and water troughs ok.
