If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure: Call the office on 01489 774400. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly. NOTES: Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call. If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed. Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact. Thank you!

Wednesday 25th September

Only 41 sheep checked and located today. 8 were in the woodlands, I could hear them but not see them. They were clearly not bothered about coming out today.

All sheep appear in good shape (apart from lots of thistles in their wool)
There is one WFW with a limp. Front left foot, he regularly lifts the leg when standing still. He walks ok on the leg ok, but it's maybe uncomfortable. I couldn't get close enough to check his tages, but nhad blue and yellow ear tags. Photos below.

Gates 11 & 13 self closing working, but latches are misaligned.

Vehicle gate (no number) near gate 4 was open, I've closed it.

Water troughs all good.
Less than 1/4 of food left in the tub.
2 x Dog walkers in site.

All 44 counted in this morning, all seem quite happy. Found on the upper and middle slopes in one group. Fence and water troughs ok.
