If you need to report an emergency to us such as injured or escaped livestock or damaged infrastructure please follow this procedure: Call the office on 01489 774400. If no one answers, wait for the answering message which will detail the name and mobile number of the member of staff who is currently on call. Phone the on-call member of staff who will then respond accordingly. NOTES: Please do not phone a member of staff directly unless you know they are on-call. If you are unsure if a particular situation qualifies as an emergency then please phone the on-call member of staff anyway so that they can make the decision on how to proceed. Most importantly of all – please do not report injuries or sick animals via the blog alone – always call the emergency on-call contact. Thank you!

Monday 15th July

I did the lookering in pouring rain today so the sheep were all under cover.

I tried shaking the sheep nuts but only 2 sheep came to me (Note: Sheep nuts container is now about 20% full), I think one being the hand reared one as it wanted me to feed it by hand.

I only managed to find 43 sheep in the Central Compartment, but at least one (Shetland) has got into the Western Compartment. It was just the opposite side of the fence to the beech woodland in the South West corner of the Central Compartment (near Plum Pudding).

I wasn't able to find a gap where it had got through.

I have left messages on Bea and Emily Figgins mobiles to let them know that there is at least one sheep in the Western Compartment but at least it/they are on the Nature reserve.

The upper gate between the Central and Western Compartment sticks but can be opened.
