Tuesday 27 June

All 39 turned up, eventually. It took a good five minutes for the last half dozen to deign me with their presence and they weren't particularly interested in food. I found the limping one, not too bad (I videoed if that helps), eating well, not particularly shy. Water and food ok. No walkers or dogs encountered

early tuesday

I haven't checked the sheep properly but was out spraying early today from 5am and thought I'd check the trough.
Saw 1 WFW sheep back left limp to monitor.

Looks like we now miraculously have running water! Hurrah, so I'll try find out from the farmer if he did something to fix this.

Sheep out busy grazing scattered across the whole field, didn't want to disturb their hard work and I definitely need some breakfast now!

staff check 23rd june

All 39 counted and look well. They came out to the call of the bucket from the shade along the western fenceline.
Trough full, I imagine they are getting most of their water from the scrubby vegetation at the moment but please keep an eye on levels.

22 June 2023

Unfortunately I hadn't read blog so didn't know sheep numbers had increased. Anyway the 22 I found were all fine, nicely shorn & water trough full. No one else on Down to approach.

39 Sheep back on site (Grazing Team)

12 shetland sheep, the rest white faced woodlands, are in middle field.

Checked on the sheep early this morning, all 20 came straight to me when they realised I had food They all appear to be in good condition and certainly playful!

Water trough is full.

No walkers or dogs , no signs of damage to gates or fences .

Thursday, June 8, 2023

Sheep as yet untrained in being summoned by the distant rattle of food. Water trough full, gates displaying new NFU signs. Found united in one flock but butting each other & much bolder towards me than previous flocks.

Sunday 4th June

Nothing untoward to report re gates and fences etc. We did some pathway clearing where new growth was encroaching. The sheep were in fine form too, hiding in the shade at the far end of the middle enclosure to get some shade, but still keen enough to come out for some food. All twenty were moving well and eating. The water trough was full too.   Pippa   pp. Adrian & Tina Crossley

Friday 2nd June

All well today. Have left margarine pot in the dustbin. Gates OK (kissing gate by Plum Pudding not latched). Doesn't look as though sheep have been near water trough. No-one around at mid-day. Pippa Evans pp. Tim Evans

Thurs 1st June

All 20 look well.
Water still not running in trough but level has not dropped much with just the 20 sheep on for now.
I will come back next week with more sheep nuts and a little container.
In the mean time using the green feed bag work well and is less heavy than the bucket itself.

Tuesday 3rd March - Sheep off-site!
