Sunday 29th August
We counted 60 sheep. One of the Shetlands has a very bad leg (front right) and is abit ragged at the rear (maybe got caught in brambles). One of the posts in the wire fence next to the gate down at the bottom by the felled ash is not actually secured in the ground. The water and gates are all fine. All sheep accounted for. Trough water level good. Gates checked - suggestion that all 6 gates are numbered and so easier to identify and report a problem. Pippa Evans

Wednesday 11th August
As some weekend wardens have had trouble locating the trough we have, with our grandchildren, cut as much undergrowth growing each side of the path leading to the trough as we can - lots of hawthorn. Sheep were all in various places under the trees along the Northern boundary. Pippa Evans

60 sheep present and correct. Limpers were a bit slow to approach but came eventually after some encouragement. They're looking much better today. Trough full, bucket full. Dog walking signs are in place.

Wednesday 4th August
Struggled to count 60 today. Only got to 59 after multiple attempts. Sheep not keen to sit still, so had to do a bit of herding. I went into where they bed down for the night but didn’t find anymore. I’ve seen 3 limpers, the old black Shetland with white and yellow tags, the light brown faces Shetland (looking particularly sad for itself, did a lot of sitting and had a bad front left leg limp) and another Shetland. Bucket and trough full and working fine. Signs still up

Tue 3rd August
Strangely, I lost lots of sheep today. I found only 38 out of the 60. I looked where I could in the central section, and walked through the West calling. I didn't have time to conduct a search of the East section in case they had got in there, and I don't know my way around the copses and bushes of the reserve well enough (previously they have all rushed over to me). Hopefully they will all be there tomorrow, wagging their tails behind them. Guy Bo Peep
