Sheep in west/central compartments for short time. Couldn't persuade them back to central. Hampshire gate between left open, so they have access to water.
The purpose of this blog is: For lookers to post a record of their livestock checks. To act as a formal record of livestock wellbeing and welfare checks. For lookers to access up-to-date information on livestock and site status, and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

Saturday 27th Call Out
Pippa phoned me (see previous post ) so I headed out to Broughton with some stock netting to full fill a gap in West comp fence .
Found the 4 sheep in West and called them down to Hampshire gate and got them through. Tried to move them to East as we know the fence is sound but I couldn't get them in.
Decided to leave them in Central and focus on filling the gap left on the western end of West Comp in case they got through again.
Left thw bucket of buts in the centre of the multi stemmed birch rather than behind the trough
Will re evaluate next week with Mike.

Ellie checked the sheep for us today. She had difficulty counting them all. We have been informed that only 58 were put on the reserve so I have changed the side bar details.

I was unable to confirm that all 60 sheep were present. I recounted several times and walked around the compartment but couldn't get a better count than 59 or 56. I hope I miscounted .
Trough was full and I left a bucket of nuts next to the trough for weekend wardens
